Since
the '80s, WSKG aired arts and music specials showcasing the
talents of local artists. These
specials were the first of their kind at the station and entertained
viewers until a few years ago, when production ceased. After
many years in hiatus, I am pleased to announce that WSKG will
once again bring local arts programming to the viewing area
when we kick-off our new weekly arts series, Expressions,
on Thursday, November 29th at 8pm.. Expressions is
our commitment to WSKG viewers and members who have made the
investment in public broadcasting
and which makes producing a series of this magnitude possible.
Expressions is a weekly
program highlighting fine arts, performing arts and the artists
from
the New York
Southern Tier. Expressions is designed
to attract people, namely viewers, to a virtual arts community
where each week they
can check out the talents of local artists, musicians and performers
all from the comforts of home.
The series opens with Expressions:
Sounds of the Season, featuring holiday music from
17 local-area performing groups including youth choirs, gospel
groups, a bell choir and a string
quartet.
Stay tuned every Thursday throughout the year as we bring different
expressions in art to you.
